Rock Band Camp Rehearsal in Overland Park

In the immortal words of Alice Cooper, "School’s out for the summer!" Time for vacations and hours spent at the pool. And... if you sign up for a Music House Summer Camp, it's time to explore your passion for music!

The summer, with fewer hours of scheduled activity, is a wonderful time for kids to dig into interesting pursuits they haven’t yet had enough time to explore. Most children, at some point, show an interest in music. So why not use these summer days as a time to let them begin exploring?

What Camps Are Available?

NEW! Pro Recording Camp

WHO: Ages 13-17 (younger students who are currently in our Band Workshop program are also eligible). At least two years of music instruction is required and previous band experience is preferred.

WHAT: Spend a week recording, editing and mastering your music. In this day and age, recording is just as essential to musical expression as performing, so don’t miss this chance to expand your musical potential.

WHENJuly 30-Aug 3 and Aug 6-10.

WHERE: You have 2 options: 7465 W 161st Street, Overland Park or 12715 W 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa.

Day Jam Camp

WHO: Ages 6-8 and 9-12. All instruments (including voice). Can be absolute beginners or have some experience. Separate camps for each age group.

WHAT: Explore playing different instruments, singing, and putting on a show. Even if you’re not yet ready for a rock band you’ll learn how to play songs in a band style or sing like a pop idol. Star in a show on the last day with the new friends you’ve made at camp.

WHEN: Ages 6-8: June 18-22, July 9-13, July 16-20, and July 30-Aug 3. Ages 9-12: June 4-8, June 25-29, and July 9-13.

WHERE: You have 2 options: 7465 W 161st Street, Overland Park or 12715 W 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa.

Rock Band Camp

WHO: Ages 9-17 with some experience playing an instrument or singing. We’ll provide a free evaluation to see if you’re ready for this camp. Two skill levels available.

WHAT: Tired of playing music by yourself? This camp introduces you to playing music with others in a real rock band. You’ll be coached by an experienced teacher to write and perform an original song and play covers of popular rock songs. Top this off by playing with your band in a mini rock concert the last day of camp.

WHEN: Level 1: June 4-8, July 11-15, June 25-29, July 16-20, and Aug 6-10. Level 2: June 18-22, and July 23-27.

WHERE: You have 2 options: 7465 W 161st Street, Overland Park or 12715 W 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa.

Purely Vocal Camp

WHO: Ages 9-12 who love to sing. Absolute beginners, and more experienced singers are welcome.

WHAT: Spend the week singing as you learn to improve your technique, pitch, control, and stage presence. Gain experience singing on stage with a microphone, and learn to do it with confidence. End the week letting your friends and family see what you’ve learned by performing in a mini concert on the last day of camp.

WHEN: June 18-22, July 16-20, and July 23-27.

WHERE: You have 2 options: 7465 W 161st Street, Overland Park or 12715 W 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa.

Guitar Riffology Camp

WHO: Ages 9-17 with some guitar or bass experience (4 months or more should do.) If you’re not sure, call us for a quick free eval.

WHAT: Learn some of the greatest, most recognizable guitar riffs--so you can impress your friends when they request that you “play something.” You’ll even learn some cool bass riffs. Riffs are often the most recognizable part of a rock song. How many of these songs can you name from the riffs played?

WHEN: June 11-15 and July 23-27.

WHERE You have 2 options: 7465 W 161st Street, Overland Park or 12715 W 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa.

Why should you enroll your child in one of these music camps? Because they are a lot of fun and a great way to spend a summer week.
