Senior Send-off: Sean Wyckoff
Guitar & bass student Sean Wyckoff came to Music House because he wanted to take his musical skills further. He'd been taking lessons at School of Rock, but it just wasn't cutting it. At Music House, he truly thrived and was accepted into one of our top-level Mastery bands. Soon he'll be heading off to Stephens Institute of Technology to study physics and maybe music.

And here's what Sean had to say when we interviewed him last week.
What instruments do you play?
I'm a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist and I'm also into MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) stuff.
How long have you been playing music?
About four years.
What are your plans for after graduating high school? If you're going to college, do you know what you'll be studying?
I'm going to Stephens Institute of Technology where I plan to major in physics and minor in either technical theater or music.
How do you think music will be a part of your life after Music House?
No matter what I will use it as a hobby to channel my emotions into. I'll be doing music in some form... always.
What is a moment at Music House that you'll never forget?
I've had too many memorable moments to even say. I will remember all of them!
What advice do you have for Music House students who are just starting to learn to play music?
Learning an instrument is going to hurt a bit, mentally at least. Not being able to get it at first hurts, but you have to keep going. Even if you don't get it, you will learn a lot and feel really good about yourself in the end. It all mixes together at some point if you keep going. Don't be afraid to keep going!
What will you miss most about Music House?
Specific one on one instruction with my teachers.
What's the best piece of musical advice you've received?
The music that you write is never going to be original until you mix many influences together. Everyone should have something they are working towards. Covering someone else's music isn't bad! Also, everyone should learn to play the drums.
What do you hope to remember most about your best performance at Music House?
Being even asked to be in the mastery band was an honor!
